When the SHTF, things will be bad. Injuries are likely, and that means the chances for infection are higher.

Each drug has its specific uses, strengths, and weaknesses. Some people react well to certain antibiotics while others are ineffective…and, some people have severe, debilitating allergies. You should be aware of your own limitations, and only store drugs that you have used in the past. Don’t try anything that you haven’t successfully taken before unless your back is to the wall and you have no other choices.

  3. Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) – Part of the quinolone class antibiotic. This antibiotic has a lot of toxicity issues and should be taken sparingly. It can be used for treating Anthrax. And, can be used for Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), infectious diarrhea, bone and joint infections.
  4. Amoxicillin – This is a very popular antibiotic used in upper respiratory, ear, nose and throat infections, and teeth abscesses. It also works to treat stomach ulcers, and is part of the penicillin family.
  5. Doxycycline – An effective antibiotic used for preventing and treating malaria, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. It can be used for treating Anthrax, too.
  6. Clindamycin – (as back up) – Stay away in you have kidney disease, liver disease, an intestinal disorder since it can make things worse.  Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), Upper Respiratory Infection (URIs)
  7. Metronidazole (Flagyl) – (as back up) – Stay away in you have liver disease, a blood cell disorder, or an intestinal disorder. Broad spectrum antibiotic that treats skin infections, STDs, Sepsis, and ear infections.
  8. Bactrim (Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim) – (as back up) –Stay away in you have kidney disease, liver disease, an intestinal disorder. Can treat ear infections, UTIs, bronchitis, traveler’s diarrhea, shigellosis, and Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia.
